Launched by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and China Invention Association, the 12th Soong Ching-ling Teenager Invention Prize was held in Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province from July 29 to August 2, 2016.

The award ceremony was held in Guiyang International Ecology Conference Center on August 2. Those attending the ceremony included Cai Zhijun, Vice Chairman of Guizhou Provincial People's Political Consultative Conference, Jing Dunquan, Vice Chairman of CSCLF, Yang Xiuping, Secretary-general of China-ASEAN Center, Yu Huarong, Standing Vice President and Secretary-general of China Invention Association, Peng Linji, President of Clifford Peng Group, Meng Lihong, Vice President and General Manager of Clifford Peng Group, Tang Jiuhong, Director of CSCLF Fund Department, Li Shuqing, former Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of Guangzhou Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference, and Han Hongguang, Director of the judging panel of this year's prize. Provincial officials, prize winning students, their instructors, organizing departments and press media also attended the event.

Soong Ching-ling Teenager Invention Prize was established under the funds and support of the Clifford Peng Group. The company had been supporting the prize for the last 10 years.
