Quanzhou is located on the southeast coast of Fujian province and faces the Taiwan Strait. It was among the first group of famous historical and cultural cities designated by the State Council. It is famous as the starting point for the Maritime Silk Road and as the largest port in Asia during the Song (960-1279) and Yuan (1271-1368) dynasties. In 2013, Quanzhou was crowned "East Asia City of Culture."      >>more
