The Cambodia-China Culture & Economy Association (CCCEA) was inaugurated here on Thursday with an aim to further promote ties in culture, economics, trade, investment and tourism between the two countries.

CCCEA President Ly Kong Iv said the association aimed to enhance culture and civilization and to build relationship between Cambodian and Chinese investors.

"Our main purposes are to promote culture and tourism between the two countries and to attract more Chinese investors to Cambodia," he said at the inauguration ceremony.

Zhou Xinzheng, visiting deputy secretary general of the China Association for International Friendly Contact, said it was a new achievement of good relations between China and Cambodia.

"I believe that the association will play an active role in bringing closer ties between our two peoples and investors," he said at the ceremony.

Nhek Bunchhay, advisor to the Cambodian government, expressed full support for the association, saying that it would contribute to promoting Sino-Cambodian ties.

"It will help the Cambodian government to further develop relations and cooperation with China in all fields, particularly culture, economics, trade, investment and tourism," he said.
