  Life in Qufu
Shopping

Relatively small in urban area, Qufu is not that commercial compared to major cities in China. Travelling there, however, you will find many exciting things to buy which are unique to the birthplace of Confucius.

For casual travelers, the best place for shopping is Queli Street, a pedestrian street to the east of Temple of Confucius. You will find many products related to Confucius, such as his statues, books and paintings. In addition, local specialties are also available. Qufu-style pancakes, stone sculptures and many other local products can easily be found.

The other place is the Visitor Center, a newly-built complex selling tickets and souvenirs. The most recommended is the local postcards that are related to the temple, mansion and cemetery of Confucius.
