Wuhan Cherry Blossom Festival, Wuhan
The East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden covers an area of 15 hectares. The East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden in Wuhan, the Hongqian Cherry Blossom Garden in Japan and the Washington Cherry Blossom Garden in America were called the “Three Capitals of Cherry Blossom in the World”. The whole garden is designed in Japanese style. The Rainbow Bridge, island, fountain and artificial hill are smothered with bright-colored cherry blossoms. More than 5000 cheery blossom trees in 30 breeds are distributed around the garden. Some of them are the best in the world inculding the Eight-Layer Drooping Cherry Blossom, the Guanshan Cherry Blossom and the Yunnan Morning Cherry Blossom.
Because the cherry blossom trees in various breeds are reasonably planted in the garden, they bloom at different times. Therefore, the bloom period can last 20 days. Tourists can enjoy single-petal cherry blossoms which are as brilliant as clouds, noble double-petal cherry blossoms and graceful drooping-branch cherry blossoms. When a breeze gently brushes the trees during the bloom period, cherry blossoms shower down. It’s charming and fascinating.
The Wuhan Cherry Blossom Festival is scheduled to last 25 days. The activity of enjoying cherry blossoms during the night is popular with people especially lovers. It applies the high-tech acoustic-optical device. Colored lights in different styles are installed under the cherries. Colorful lights set off cherry blossoms. The whole garden is splendid with much mystery. Tourists can fully enjoy a romantic feeling under the cherry blossoms and colorful lights. Some other activities are held during the festival such as unclenching lights under the cherry, the exhibition of the pictures of three famous cherry blossom gardens in the world and the picture exhibition of the knowledge about the breed of Cherry blossom.
