Despite an increasing number of tourists, the Palace Museum strives to better its hospitality service to cater for the needs of each individual visitor. Specific initiatives include adjusting exhibition layouts, widening opening area, improving service infrastructure and channeling the overflowing of visitors.Among all the improvements, upgraded services for visitors are the most prominent, which can be exemplified in four aspects:

1 It used to take visitors over an hour to buy tickets, now more ticket offices have been opened to meet the increasing demand. Ancient architectures in the west of Duanmen square have become designated offices for tickets selling and counseling. Till now, there are over 30 ticket offices, which are subject to adjustment based on the number of visitors. Visitors can manage to purchase tickets within 3-5 minutes, 15 minutes at most.

2 Personalized service has become another focus of the service improvement scheme. For instance, the elderly and the disabled can get free wheel chairs in the tourist service center before entering the museum, which has been well-received with the above special groups.
