On July 15, 2014, Subway Line 1 in Hangzhou launched a series of love-themed trains ahead of the Qixi Festival featuring classic Chinese love stories including Niulang and Zhinu, Legend of the White Snake, and the Butterfly Lovers, often regarded as the Chinese equivalent of Romeo and Juliet. It is estimated that a love train arrives at a station along the line every 30 minutes. This year the Qixi Festival, also known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day, falls on August 2.(Photo/Weibo)
