Indonesian college students hold online tour to Guangxi

The 2022 Chinese Bridge online exchange program, the "Meet China, Feel Guangxi" Chinese Culture Camp, was successfully held at Guilin Tourism University in Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Feb 25. Teachers from the university met 139 students from the Trisakti School of Tourism in Indonesia online.

"The diverse courses gave me a more intuitive understanding of China and its rapid economic development. I hope to come to China to experience traditional Chinese culture and become a messenger of culture between Indonesia and China in the future," Huang Huihui, a student from the Trisakti School, said in an online interview.

During the 10-day course, the Indonesian students visited Guangxi through the internet and experienced the rich and colorful traditional Chinese culture, including Chinese poetry, the Chinese language, folk songs, traditional painting, Tai Chi and Chinese tea culture, enriching both language learning and traditional culture experience.

Ouyang Caihong from Jakarta said the teachers not only explained enthusiastically, but also prepared an interpretation service to help students better learn the course content and stimulate enthusiasm for learning Chinese. "Participating in this event is an unforgettable experience. I hope to learn more about Chinese culture so I can study and work in China after graduation to broaden my horizons and let more relatives and friends know about China.".

Teachers from Guilin Tourism University also held a unique online tour to 4A scenic spots in Guangxi for the students. The beautiful landscapes and melodious folk songs have increased student Li Youwei's interest in China. "I hope we can meet face-to-face in Guilin and learn more about Chinese culture," she said.

Cheng Daopin, headmaster of Guilin Tourism University, said he hoped all the students would keep contacting Chinese young people in the future to experience the profound cultural heritage of China and become youth messengers of friendship, strengthening cultural exchange and friendship between the two countries.

Fetty Asmaniati, headmaster of the Trisakti School of Tourism in Indonesia, said participating in this activity can increase students' insight into Chinese culture and make students more confident in learning Chinese. She hoped students could make good use of what they have learned and further promote cultural exchanges between Indonesia and China.
