ASEAN-China TV Week held in South China

The opening ceremony of the 3rd ASEAN-China TV Week and the closing ceremony of the ASEAN-China Youth Hosts Camp were held in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Oct 27, 2021. This year's event was jointly hosted by the National Radio and Television Administration, the Laos Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICT), and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

More than 400 people attended the meeting, including officials from embassies and consulates general of ASEAN countries in Nanning, heads of affiliated institutions of the National Radio and Television Administration and some provincial administrations, as well as representatives from the media industry.

Video addresses by distinguished guests, including Nie Chenxi, head of the National Radio and Television Administration; Ounthuang Khaophanh, deputy minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos; Deng Xijun, ambassador of the Chinese Mission to ASEAN; Johnny Plate, minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia; and U Maung Maung Ohn, union minister for Information of Myanmar.

ASEAN-China TV Week held a series of events, including an opening ceremony, a young hosts camp, a short video contest, and a summit on audio-visual communication. The theme of this year's event was "Mutual assistance, Integration and Innovation".

Nie Chenxi said that China and ASEAN have maintained productive cooperation in areas spanning radio and television broadcasting, content creation and talent cultivation.

Ounthuang Khaophanh said the event strengthened bilateral cooperation in TV, radio, film, radio and TV technology, and enhanced mutual understanding and recognition between the people of ASEAN countries and the Chinese people.

Fan proposed that the media should give full play to their advantages and fulfill their responsibilities as media personnel in order to build bridges of communication. The media also should spread positive stories and promote practical cooperation, making new contributions to building a closer ASEAN-China community with a shared future.
