First Global Youth Turing Programs launched in Beijing

The first Global Youth Turing Programs were announced in Beijing in July 22. The programs aim to discover and cultivate youth talented in artificial intelligence from around the world.

Turing Programs focus on the “AI+” and such advanced science and technology field as the theme of ‘World with you• future Turing’. The programs aim to discover and cultivate the middle school students who have particular ability in innovation and application of science and technology and to provide them support and education to continue their studies, starting business and launching projects.

The series of activities include selection, training camp, the innovation summit and the award ceremony of the Global Youth Turing Programs.

The Turing Programs have this time established profession group and speculation group. The speculation group will concentrate on invited international top middle school students skilled in debating, focusing on the AI+ to discuss the issues of AI and education. And top experts in debating, technology and education will be invited to appraise.

Some middle schools from countries will also be invited. Princeton Mathematics and Science High School from the US, Westminster School from the UK and UCC Middle School from Canada said they were encouraging their students to join. The invited guests of speculation group include the debate teams from Methodist Ladies College, Tsun Jin High School, River Valley High School, Pui Ching Middle School Macau and the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China.

Pan Yunhe, academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Yaqin, academician at the US Academy of Arts and Sciences, are co-chairmen of Expert Advisory Committee of Turing Programs. Anthony Cohen, academician at the Royal Academy of Engineering and Turing Research Institute, with other eight deans of AI institutes, is the committee member.
