At the beginning of 2020, a pandemic swept the world and upturned people’s lives. While the disease is still spreading overseas, with the support of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, youngsters at home and abroad have expressed their wishes and love through letters, paintings and short videos.

Expressing love from deep inside

Co-sponsored by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and China Public Diplomacy Association, the anti-epidemic activity was undertaken by the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Youth People. Letters, drawings and short videos filled with love and care from 19 primary and secondary schools in Beijing were sent to Japan, South Korea, Iran, Cambodia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Serbia, France, Germany and Spain by Chinese embassies and media.

“Friends thousands of miles away. How are you? Though we are strangers to each other, we have our hearts together.” “Though we are distant from each other, we still have faith in fighting together.” “Thank you so much, you people provided us many help when we were struggling against the disease.” “Now, it’s time for us to provide you with medical supplies in return. We hope we can do something to help you.” “We cherish each other, we care about each other. And we should believe that medicine and love can cure the disease and we will achieve success. We will embrace a more wonderful future.”

Children showed the world their love and care for the countries disturbed by the pandemic with their sincere wishes in 17 short videos. They used unique ways to tell the world their understanding of community with a shared future for mankind and their cares for the human beings.

We will be friends from generation to generation

The end of the video revealed that the spring will come back, and the friendship between China and Japan will be ever-lasting.

‘To be grateful and forever remember’

Many youngsters from other countries made short videos to appreciate Chinese children. They communicated through the internet to strengthen their friendship.

Yang Guifang, a student from Philippine Chinese School, said thanks in Chinese through the video. “Thank you, friends from Beijing, the painting in the video is very beautiful. And your wishes moved me so much. I noticed that there is pretty jasmine flower in the video. I hope our friendship will always be alive as the jasmine flower.”
