No gimmicks, no stage set, props or scenery, no special effects, no light show and no dancers. The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain has always depended on pure music to capture audiences' hearts.
Their debut at The Orange in Beijing on Sunday night was no exception. The hall was packed with lovers of this tiny instrument ready to appreciate a performance by the world's first ukulele orchestra, as well as hundreds watching through a big screen sponsored by Swire Properties outside the venue .
The group of musicians performed their signature songs like "Kiss" and "Life on Mars," as well as Chinese classic "Moonlight River in Spring."
The performance was part of the Urban Series concerts, itself a part of the ongoing 17th Beijing Music Festival.
