The 12th China Int'l Chorus Festival ends in Beijing

The 12th China International Chorus Festival (CICF) concluded the biannual competition on Aug 4.

The 12th China International Chorus Festival (CICF) concluded the biannual competition on Aug 4.

This year, the festival drew nearly 10,000 participants from around the world for a series of competitions, high-level concerts, exchange performances, master classes, choral salons, forums and performing tours. A total of 121 activities were held during the week-long festival, which was themed "Come to Beijing, listen to the songs of the world."

In the competition, 188 choirs from 43 countries and regions gathered in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, with nine in the finals. Shenzhen Longgang Pure Sound Female Teachers' Chorus, Hungary Béla Bartók Choir and Guangzhou Liwan District Children’s Palace Choir won the top three spots.

The 12th session was jointly hosted by the Bureau for External Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Culture, China Arts and Entertainment Group, Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, the Government of Xicheng District of Beijing city, IFCM and CICF. Popular singer Momo Wu served as the image ambassador.
