2013 is the year to commemorate the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi. And the National Center for the Performing Arts has invited Placido Domingo, to stage Verdi’s "Nabucco" in Beijing.(CNTV)

Liang Li said, "It’s quite emotional for me, since I’ve been playing outside China for 15 years, and it’s my first time to perform at the NCPA. I’ve been dreaming of such a classical rendition for a long time. Although the team may not be that experienced, everyone sticks together and works very hard. There is absolutely nothing I can complain about. Just fantastic."

Domingo says a classical production is a good intro of the play in a country where it has never been staged before. And he promises to bring more performances to the country in the future.

The NCPA production of Nabucco injects new vibracy into China’s theatre stage. It also provides a great opportunity for outsiders to learn about the country’s artistic strength, and an excellent model for other international productions to follow.
