Day 7: Tulou (土楼)

The Fujian tulou, located in a mountainous area of the province, are the largest unique residential buildings in the world. The structures are constructed of rammed earth and their origins can be traced back nearly 1,000 years. They allow large clans based on blood ties to live together as a big family and collectively defend against attacks from outsiders.

Transport: Take a coach to Yongding County or Hongkeng Tulou cultural village.
