Huai’an, a pearl on Huaihe River, is a famous and historic city and the hometown of Huaiyang cuisine. There are two heritage areas along the section of its Grand Canal, namely, Qingkou Hub, a famous ancient water gate in Huai’an, and the relics of the governor of the canal system (which was used to transport grain to the capital in feudal times).
