Influential Animation Festivals in China

China International Cartoon & Animation Festival (Hangzhou)

Organized by the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province,China International Cartoon & Animation Festival is the biggest in scale and most popular and influential event of this kind in China. Founded in 2005, the event has been held annually in Hangzhou from April 28 to May 3, with different themes each year. The festival aims to explore animation culture both domestically and internationally, discuss hot issues in academic circles and exchange ideas and understanding in the animation industry. Formal bids are set in the festival to promote trade in animation games and relevant copyrights.
