Shanghai Pudong New District announced plans to build the first domestic high-tech cultural facilities base in the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) at an international high-tech and cultural facilities industry forum on Oct 15. It will take full use of the effective system of FTZ and its open policy on financial innovation to build an international high-tech and cultural facilities platform.

Cultural facilities include various equipments involving six main industries, including film, stage, cinema, publishing, game and entertainment and mobile Internet. The transaction volume has exceeded a trillion yuan, about a quarter of the output of the culture industry. In addition, this figure increases at an annual rate of 20 percent. The construction of this base is to piece together outstanding high-tech and cultural facilities enterprises and integrate all the enterprises on the value chain. As a result, it will offer the most reliable and powerful support to the production of cultural products and launch mature product models to the market overseas.
