The forum organizer will collect the achievements produced by the inaugural event, which mainly consist of thesis papers and monographs, all to be published at a later point and time.

The forum was jointly sponsored by the Benxi Taoist Association and Tiecha Mountain Taoism Culture Research Institute in Benxi, and covered by Benxi Tiecha Mountain Taoism Culture Media.

Benxi Man autonomous county lies in the southeastern area of Liaoning province. Mount Tiecha, 120 kilometers east of Benxi, is part of the Changbai Mountain range where layers of steep hills and peaks rise in an emerald verdure. Winding vanes and brooks add a certain eternal vitality to the fairy land.

Mount Tiecha has a very long history, and in the ancient book The Romance of Immortal Title Conferring (1567-1619) the area is recorded in detail.

Mount Tiecha was originally an ancestral place essential for the development of Taoism in northeastern China. In 1630, Guo Shouzhen, the No.8 generation disciple of Taoism Longmen school, came and took residence in the mountain summit caves where he began his Taoist practice. Much later, and under his leadership, his disciples built a large variety of temples and houses. Guo eventually became famous for his supernatural abilities after many years of practicing his philosophy in the summit caves.
