Underground fighters caught on film

Smoke shrouds the boxing ring, the mask over the fighter's face implies that this game is not entirely legal. Leaning on the ring, the fighter tries to conceal his tiredness behind the mask but his hair damp with sweat and bent knees give him away. This is the scene depicted in one of the photos by Tomasz Gudzowaty that will be displayed in Guangzhou. The Polish photographer traveled across Europe, America and Asia to photograph the sports stars from the gangs. The black and white photos are solemn, simple and beautiful. They are silent speakers of the fighters stories and possess strong visual impact. Gudzowaty, a well-known social photographer, has won a first or second prize in the World Press Photo competition eight times in the past 10 years.

Britpop stalwarts return for nationwide tour

Britpop group Suede's show in Beijing, months before the band split in 2003, proved they had a huge following in the Middle Kingdom. The band later reformed and returned to China in 2011, receiving high praise from critics and audiences. Now, the pop legends led by Brett Anderson are touring Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in October as part of their Asian tour.
