When traditional and modern meet

About 30 new works by established ink artists from Shanghai such as Qiu Deshu, Wang Tiande and Tsai Guangbin, will be on show at Huafu Art Space. These artists have managed to bring the traditional Chinese art of ink painting to the modern age, illustrating the spiritual world of people today. It will also reveal the achievements and developments in the theoretical research on art in Shanghai.

Photojournalists become fashionable

A photograph exhibition from Italy has taken up the ground floor lobby and second floor public space in the Shanghai World Financial Center. Ten acclaimed photojournalists have been invited by the Altagamma Foundation to take pictures for its 64 members covering diverse fields of fashion, design, health and hospitality. They include brands such as Gucci, Versace, San Pellegrino and Ducati. Each picture is presented in frames tailor made for the image. The exhibition is held at the former Italy Pavilion of World Expo 2010 before opening at the office building in Lujiazui financial area.

12 Angry Men takes to the stage

The Chinese production of the play 12 Angry Men will be presented soon in Shanghai. The play created by American author Reginald Rose in 1954 became very popular with Chinese audiences when the Chinese production was released last year. The story about the jury debate of a homicidal trial attracted groups of Shanghai prosecutors to the theater. This summer, the production will celebrate its 100th show, and embark on a national tour after Shanghai. The upcoming performances will feature a new cast.
