  Freedom of belief

China is a nation in which the people enjoy freedom of religious belief and many religions harmoniously coexist. The primary religious traditions in China include Buddhism, Daoism, Islam, Christianity, and Catholicism. All normal religious activities carried out by members of the clergy and believers are protected by law, and may not be interfered with.
