Exhibition celebrates the 110th birthday of Ba Jin

Shanghai Library is staging an exhibition on the life of Ba Jin to mark the 110 anniversary of his birth.

Ba Jin is considered to be one of the most important and widely read Chinese writers of the 20th century. He is noted for his portrayal of social reality in a series of three books-The Family, Spring, and Autumn. He was also a skilled translator and publisher.

Over 1,000 articles are on display, most of which for the first time, including the coat Ba Jin wore when he went to the battlefield as a reporter during the Korean War, a book order list, the manuscripts of his speeches and other items he used in his daily life, as well as documents and pictures.

The exhibition will run through Nov 30.
