Acclaimed Italian singer-songwriter Francesco Baccini performed at the Cultural Institute of the Italian Embassy in Beijing on October 24.

Cui Jian, the "father" of Chinese rock, gave an introduction at the concert and his well-known song Nothing to My Name was performed by Baccini in the Italian language.

Before Baccini's arrival in China, a number of Italian language students were invited to participate in a contest to translate his musical pieces ahead of his tour, and Baccini presented awards to the winners during the concert.

Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong are the five Chinese cities Francesco Baccini will perform in, representing the best of Italy's songwriting traditions.
