Noted Chinese composer Ye Xiaogang will hold a concert, "China Story's - Himalayan Light", at Lincoln Center in the U.S. along with Detroit Symphony Orchestra on Sept. 22. This will be the first time for an American mainstream symphony orchestra to hold a concert for a Chinese composer since the founding of new China.
"The concert is of great significance for promoting Chinese culture oversea. I hope that China's voice expressed by symphony can be heard on an international stage," Ye said.
Ye Xiaogang is a Chinese composer of contemporary classical music. He has won a number of international music honors such as the Guggenheim Foundation Award. His works have been played in many countries including the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Switzerland.
Detroit Symphony Orchestra is one of the top ten symphony orchestras in the U.S., which has a history of more than 120 years.
