A gourmet food festival opened on September 25 at Wanfeng Food Street in southwest Beijing's Fengtai District. About one hundred fine dishes prepared by famous restaurants in the district, including some winning dishes from a recently concluded cooking competition, were displayed during the opening ceremony.

The event, which is sponsored by Fengtai District Catering Industry Association, will last for one month through October 25. Around 20 high-end restaurants will present less expensive dishes during the period in a bid to woo more lower-end consumers. [Photo: China.org.cn]
