Built on a foundation of more than 2,000 years of practice, traditional Chinese medicine includes various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, cupping, and psychology therapy.
Zhang Bo, deputy head of the Chinese culture center in Bangkok, said, "In traditional Chinese medicine, the human body is seen as an integral whole. Through [diagnoses of] superficial features of human body (such as tongue colors, shapes and features), doctors could tell changes of inner functions and carry out medical treatments accordingly." He added traditional Chinese medicine also has a far-reaching impact on medical approaches in other Asian countries, including Japan, South Korea and Vietnam.
