Introduction

The establishment of a China Cultural Center marks a new achievement in enhancing cultural relations between countries and builds a channel of cultural exchange for both sides. The past decades have witnessed the rapid development of overseas China Cultural Centers. Since the 1980s, a total of 20 centers have been established in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America, including Mauritius, Benin, Cairo, Paris, Malta, Seoul, Berlin, Tokyo, Ulan Bator, Bangkok, Moscow, Madrid, Mexico, Nigeria, Denmark, Sydney, Sri Lanka, Laos, Pakistan and Nepal.

Functions

Cultural activities: The center normalizes and consecutively holds performances, exhibitions, art festivals and all kinds of contests.

Teaching and Training: courses on language, Chinese culture and other training courses like sports and exercises are open up at the center. Short-term projects are also included.

Information Services: libraries are set up to provide China-related information or data, to introduce Chinese culture and history as well as the status quo of modern social life in China.
