Berlinale 2016 opens with star-studded US comedy

In addition to the three-time Oscar-winner and US actress Meryl Streep, the seven-member international panel included German actor Lars Eidinger, British film critic Nick James, French photographer Brigitte Lacombe, British actor Clive Owe, Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher as well as Polish director Malgorzata Szumowska.

From Feb 11 to 21, a total of 434 films from 77 countries and regions will be screened at the festival, among which 18 films will run for the golden and silver bears awards.

Chinese film "Crosscurrent" will compete at Berlinale this year.
