The first cartoon theme post office opened in Wuxi on Nov 1. It was also authorized to publish commemorative stamps to mark the 40th anniversary of the birth of Hello Kitty on its opening day.

Besides the Hello Kitty stamps, sales of other stamps with popular cartoon figures, such as Doraemon, Transformers and One Piece, went through the roof. More than 100 sets of stamps were sold within 10 minutes of opening. Notably, each set of the commemorative stamps includes a stamp album, post cards, a desk diary and exquisite stamps. It has high appreciation and collection value.

The post office also sells animation and cartoon related products. It is good news for local cartoon fans because they can not only buy authorized animated products but also DIY post cards with souvenir postmarks. In addition, people are allowed to order customized postcards through Wechat (a mobile text and voice messaging communication service developed by Tencent in China) and send these adorable wishes to friends and relatives on a specified date.
