The Palace Museum has started the renovation and repair of Yanchi House and Chonglou Area on September 3. The construction is expected to finish on May 31 of 2015, and will create a huge exhibition area running from Yanchi House to the Meridian Gate, covering an area of 2,800 square meters.

Shan Jixiang, director of the Imperial Palace Museum, said that it would create the Palace Museum’s largest exhibition area to date, featuring first-rate facilities.

In addition, it will build the Duanmen (Southern End Main Entrance) to a digit museum. When the Palace Museum closes, visitors can still enjoy its beauty there. Several closed palaces will be opened in here.
