Inner Mongolia boosts culture industry

To let more people know about the rich cultural heritage of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the local government has inaugurated several campaigns aimed at developing the region's cultural industry.

Musicians from China Philharmonic Orchestra and local children from HuLunBeiEr choir jointly presented a performance featuring folk songs of the prairie.

Zhang Ping, tourist from Jiangxi, said, "The performance is brilliant and the kids are very cute. Their singing is innocent, which touches my heart. I feel my heart has been purified."

A tourist from Shandong said, "This is the most authentic primitive music, and you can't hear it in other places. This is such a worthwhile trip."

To work with a first class arts troupe is one of the important plans of Inner Mongolia to establish its cultural brand. In the past few years, the autonomous region has produced several films, TV series, and musicals to introduce its grassland culture to a wider audience.

"Ordos' Wedding," a musical depicting the unique wedding ceremony of the local Nomadic people, has become a favorite among tourists.

Wu Shaojun, cultural official of Inner Mongolia, said, "We shall develop our culture industry based on our grassland culture and the region's unique features. I believe the future is very promising."

Cultural tourism also plays a vital role in developing its culture industry. It has become the central pillar of Inner Mongolia's service industry.

In the first half of this year alone, Inner Mongolia has welcomed over 10-million visitors at home and abroad who collectively injected revenue totaling nearly 18-billion Yuan into the region.
