To Make some “Foods and Drinks in Season” for Ourselves  
 

[Recipe]  Clean the mushroom and the ginger, and then cut them up into small pieces.  Peel off the skin of the white gourd. Use a stainless steel soup spoon to scoop out dozens of small balls of the white gourd.  Heat up a round-bottomed frying wok with a little vegetable oil; stir-fry the ginger pieces first and then the mushroom pieces.  After several minutes’ frying, pour the chicken broth into the wok.  When the broth is boiled, add in the white gourd balls.  After the white gourd balls are cooked, add a little salt, sesame oil and MSG, and then pour some starchy sauce in the dish to thicken the soup.

[Benefits] This dish can regulate our digestive system and clears away the heat.

Barbary Wolfberry Fruit (Gou Qi Zi) and Schisandrae (Wu Wei Zi) Tea

芒种节气的食疗方

[Ingredients] 5g of Schisandrae stir-baked with vinegar, 10g of Barbary wolfberry fruit, and some sugar

[Recipe]  Put the Schisandrae and some diced Barbary wolfberry into a cup.  Infuse some boiled water in the cup and steep the herb fruits for 3 minutes.  Add a little sugar in the tea, and mix well.

[Benefits] This tea nourishes the kidney and preserves our health in the summer months.
