Reconstruction work carried out in Dujiangyan

To avoid the drill trapped in the mountain rocks, it can’t stop when it works. The longest pile is up to 15 meters made from steel and cement.

Reconstructive period of Erwang Temple is expected to be longer than that of Fulong Taoist Temple for its severe conditions. Built in late Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420) and burnt down in late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), the Erwang Temple in existence is actually a construction of the Republic of China era (1912-1949). The experts on ancient construction usually negotiate with the builders to harmonize the temple’s integrity with its style.

After the earthquake, a number of builders across China assembled in Sichuan to give their aid towards reconstruction. Many of them scarcely have a chance to go home since last June. They are optimistic to the rebuilding and wish to come back to Sichuan in the future to see the constructions built by them.
