Red Rom dress -- Western Han Dynasty (AD 25-220)

Since the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 24), folks have been planting madder, which can be used as a dye for light red, purple and other kinds of red colors. Red flowers were brought into China at the same time, along with the bright red. According to experts, Ru skirts became popular starting in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Red Rom dresses and yellow Ru skirts reflect the fashion trends of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
