4. Qin
The guqin is a seven-stringed Chinese musical instrument from the zither family. It has been played since ancient times, and has been traditionally favored by scholars and literati as an instrument of great subtlety and refinement. In the past, the qin has always been viewed as the first place among the four Chinese high culture activities such as the qin, chess, calligraphy and painting.
The qin was invented during 2400 BC-2370 BC. The evolution of the Chinese character Qin suggests that it is a musical instrument that should be played in front of the audience on serious and grand occasions. It is played for important guests who are supposed to be properly seated during the performances as a sign of cultural cultivation and respect to the performers.
