The annual Pinggu Peach Flowers Festival began April 8 and will run till May 8. Since 1997, the event has been known for its celebrations marked by theatrical performances and creative activities. Set in northeast Beijing, Pinggu is home to the world’s largest peach orchard, which covers 36,000 acres.

The peach blossom, with its beauty and scent, has captured the hearts and imaginations of many Chinese poets and writers. As vivacious and elegant as peach flowers are, they are associated with a blessed life in traditional Chinese culture.
