The White Pagoda Temple was constructed in 1271 under the order of Kublai Khan. This tall and exotic White Pagoda is a landmark building of Beijing.

Besides its architectural and historical significance, the White Pagoda Temple is also part of the culture of the ancient city Beijing. Unlike many historical sites in China which are lonely "preserved" among modern architectures, the temple has a well kept old neighborhood around it. We can still have a look of the street life around the White Pagoda nowadays.
