Transportation:
Basha is under the jurisdiction of Congjiang County of Guizhou Province. It is 7.5 km away from the county seat. Visitors can either take the minibus from there or rent one. Tickets are around RMB 50 for a round trip. Motorcycles are also available for rent.
Food:
Fish in sour soup is a local specialty. Glutinous rice and water are placed in an earthenware jar and set near the family fireplace to ferment. When the soup becomes sour, it is boiled with fish and tomato. This creates a dish of special flavor. Other culinary choices include roast pig, roast fish with lemongrass, sheep (pig) blood salad, fried flour gruel, and stir-fried beacon with dried bamboo shoots.
N.B. You must ask permission before taking pictures of locals. Do not touch cows and goats as they are considered sacred.
