Cishi memorial archway

Standing in She county, Anhui province, the archway is 11.5 meters high, 6.77 meters wide. It is a rare Chinese domestic “octagonal decorative archway”. This memorial archway was built as a commendation of Xu Guo, a renowned statesman who served under three consecutive emperors in the Ming Dynasty. The memorial archway was unique because it was given as a gift when Xu Guo was still alive.
