Academician Huang Kun was awarded the 1995 prize of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation for Scientific and Technological Achievement. He received the highest honor as the winner of State Preeminent Science and Technology Award of China in 2001. In 2002, Huang received the 5-million-yuan (US$602,000) National Supreme Scientific and Technological Award, the nation's highest award for achievement in the field of science.
