Asia-Pacific Screen Awards: Zhang Ziyi and Lu Yue take top honors

Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi and cinematographer Lu Yue have taken top honors at the seventh Asia-Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) ceremony held in Brisbane, Australia on December 12.

Zhang was awarded best actress for her role in Chinese director Wong Kar Wai’s martial arts drama The Grandmaster, which chronicles the life of Chinese martial arts master Ip Man. And Lu Yue won Achievement in Cinematography for Chinese film Back to 1942.

Established in 2007 and headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland,the Asia-Pacific Screen Awards which aim at recognising and promoting the cinematic excellence and cultural diversity of the Asia Pacific region, are one of the most significant film awards in the region.
