Also, the “Declaration of the First Chinese Paper-Cut art Festival in Weixian” will be signed in order to disseminate the festival’s academic achievements and recognition.
Introduction of Weixian:
Weixian was named as “The Hometown of Chinese Paper-Cut Art” by Chinese Folk Literature and Art Society in 2003, what’s more, the paper-art in Weixian was incorporated in the “Representative List of Intangible Heritage of Humanity” by UNESCO in October, 2009. Currently, there are more than 5800 species of paper-cut originated or prevailed here and its business is spread into more than 70 countries.
In the light of promoting Chinese cultural paper-cut art, the festival will be a milestone and turning point in the development of Chinese folk art culture. All the cooperation and communication will leave participants with a vivid impression of Chinese folk art culture. Meanwhile, the festival will show the world the distinctive character of paper-cut art in Weixian.
