On June,26th , a press conference on the First Paper-Cut Art Festival and the Tenth ShanHua Prize Award Activity that was held in the Great Hall was in fact an introduction to the First Paper-Cut Art Festival, which will take place from August 1 to 3 in Weixian, Hebei Province.

Tthe theme of “Inheritance, innovation and development” and the belief of “Joy, folk, stunt and inheritance”, the festival is planned to show the achievement of the Chinese traditional folk art and to promote the communication in paper-cut culture as well as the cooperation in technique and skill. By then, there will be 41 different factions and hundreds of masters with thousands of works debuting in Weixian, making the event interesting.

During the press conference, it is said that two new emerging talents who selected from the thousands of artists will be the guests in the festival.

Arrangement:

The festival starts from July and ends in September which is divided into three steps. The first step is to propagate and do preparation works which includes 7 items. The second one will hold a lot of activities, such as: The Forum of Chinese Paper-Cut Art Development which is a seminar in memory of the 120 anniversary of Wang Lao Shang; The activities that some foreign students invited to participate in; The Award Ceremony of ShanHua Prize; The Award Ceremony of the First Paper-Cut Art Festival; The Cultural- Eco tourism; The Visit to some Intangible Cultural Heritage and so on; During the last phase, there will be five items pertaining to the research of paper-cut culture and the collection of the achievement in paper-cut cultural industries.
