Masterpieces from the Collection of the Prince of Liechtenstein

An exhibition of paintings from the Prince of Liechtenstein opened at the National Museum of China, with Chinese President Xi Jinping writing a congratulatory letter.

A total of 100 paintings are now on display from November 5 to February 15, mainly masterpieces of the Flemish period, including works by Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck.

Flemish painting was an important school in the Baroque period of Western art history. Its most representative masters, Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck, created a significant chapter in Western art history.

President Xi wrote in the letter that the exhibition is a great cultural exchange event of between China and Liechtenstein, giving the Chinese public the opportunity to enjoy Flemish masterpieces.

Hans-Adam II, Prince of Liechtenstein, also wrote a letter for the exhibition touching on more than 60 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries and a deep friendship between them.

Highlight: Chinese President Xi Jinping wrote a congratulatory letter and the Prince of Liechtenstein also wrote a note for the exhibition, making it a diplomatic event with great symbolic significance.
