Moscow welcomes Chinese Summer Palace exhibition

Organized by Chinese government departments, China’s “Glory of the Yuanmingyuan” (Old Imperial Summer Palace) exhibition travelled on to Moscow after the success in Berlins, from August 31 to September 20, which was designated the China-Russia Tourism Year.

Held at the Chinese Culture Center, the exhibition had 13 halls showcasing scenery, gardens, architecture,, art, and tourist aspects of the revived Beijing monument. A model of the Hall of National Peace, which contained the largest European-style garden in Yuanmingyuan, was the centerpiece, showing the past glories of the royal gardens.

The digital technology used for the exhibition attracted a lot of people with both content and innovative forms. There were plenty of computers to show Yuanmingyuan’s history, culture, and tourist possibilities, along with 3D films of relics on five interactive screens.

Highlight: Visitors also had a chance to understand the Yuanmingyuan through various activities, including videos, royal snacks, and Chinese opera, calligraphy and paintings.
