International literary festival in China attracts world attention

The Bookworm International Literary Festival (BLF) kicked off in Beijing in March. It was a unique celebration of literature and ideas in China, programming 200 events across China, while connecting over 90 Chinese and international writers and thinkers.

BLF is an independently funded festival, dedicated to bringing people the best writers and thinkers. Starting with a small team passionate about literature, BLF has grown into one of the world’s most prestigious literary festivals.

Highlight:

Over 90 writers, artists and thinkers were invited to participate in over 200 activities held in major Chinese cities including Beijing, Chengdu and Suzhou over the course of 15 days.

Their programs included book talks, panel discussions, writing workshops and performances; their children’s program included writing and drawing workshops and interactive storytelling sessions; a Chinese-language program presenting international authors to a Chinese audience; Footnotes program with music, comedy, film and events that cannot be categorized. The festival every year brings international and Chinese authors into classrooms to inspire students, who are tomorrow’s writers and thinkers.
