Liao Changyong, a Chinese baritone, sings at the ceremony

A ceremony to kick off the Expo float parade was held last night in front of the Africa Joint Pavilion. Chinese baritone Liao Changyong sang at the ceremony.

It was the first night float parade staged in the World Expo site since its opening on May 1.

Ten female drummers gave a warm-up show before the 1.8-kilometres-long parade in Pudong starting at the Africa Joint pavilion and ending at Expo Axis. The floats moved along the Bocheng Road, consisted of 11 floats and 300 actors.

 
Performance at the ceremony

The day parade in Puxi area is along Longhua Rd E. whose route covers 800 meters. The parade will tour at the site every day. Visitors are encouraged to sing and dance along with the performers.

World Expo Parade, a key attraction at the 184-day World Expo in the site, is sponsored by Greenland Group.
