Single tickets for group visitors

Single tickets will be distributed to group visitors so they can enter the Expo Garden through entrances for individuals starting from Thursday.

The waiting period for group visitors will be shortened significantly, according to Hong Hao, chief of the Expo coordination bureau.

Meanwhile, more tour groups will be directed to enter the Expo Garden through entrances in the Puxi section to avoid long queues in Pudong. The adjustment will help balance the visitor flow in the Expo Garden.

As part of the adjustments, the number of cultural performances in Puxi section will also be increased to attract more visitors.

More shuttle buses will be arranged in the Expo Garden and there will be more bus stops located in Urban Best Practices Area in Puxi.

To guarantee a comfortable visiting experience for the increasing number of visitors, Expo organizers have placed 40,000 more benches in the Expo Garden, which could seat more than 100,000 visitors at one time.

Organizers also promised to place 2,000 more shelters in front of some popular pavilions before the extreme heat approaches in July.

The Expo Garden has received 3.4 million visitors since it was officially opened on May 1, among which 30 percent to 40 percent are group visitors and the number of visitors are expected to increase steadily.
