The Dong people are showing their talent on the stage in southwest China's Guizhou province. The stage is set at an outdoor scenic spot in Liping county.

An ethnic performance like no other. The Dong people dazzle the audience with their dance, music and unique costumes. The one hour show involves more than 200 performers, who sometimes approach the audience for some close interaction.

The Dong are one of the 56 ethnic groups in China, and are famed for their native breed of sweet rice, carpentry skills and musical talent. They currently number about 3 million and mainly reside in south eastern China.

This performance is a major cultural attraction in Liping county. Dedicated to promoting the culture of the Dong people, this theater complex is supported by the local government and cost 100 million US dollars to build.

The performance took months of training to put together, and the organizers hope to stage the show twice a week to promote Dong culture on a regular basis.
